Being a Qualified Dorset Wedding Photographer you see a lot of venues and different types of couples. What I would like to discuss here is what a versatile venue the Kings Arms in Christchurch is. Firstly, lets discuss where the Kings arms is. The King’s Arms Hotel is situated in the heart of the ancient town of Christchurch. It is on the edge of New forest on one side and the gorgeous awarded beaches on the other. There is actually two venues you can pick at the Hotel. You can either have the Kings Priory which has a stunning reception room or you can pick the Pavilion which is opposite the hotel on the Kings arms bowling green.
THE FLEXIBILITY OF THE VENUE
Over the years I have seen my couples use the venue in different ways. Due to its position it is very close of the fabulous Christchurch Priory. I have many happy memories of this church. As a child I used to sing solo’s in my schools Christmas service and it always gives me goosebumps when I go in. Being in close quarters to the Hotel it gives you the best of both worlds. The chance to have a picture perfect wedding ceremony in a gorgeous Church and the chance to relax, with no driving needed, to the wedding reception. Trust me, your guests will love it. The lovely walk through from the Church to the Hotel is tranquil and takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the town. It also give me, the photographer, the opportunity to take some fabulous pictures of you and your guests.
After walking through the Vinery and the lovely old ruins you come to the Pavilion. I have seen some lovely Bbq’s on the bowling green with games on the lawn. Lots of laughter. Again, amazing opportunities for photographs. Full of candid, relaxed moments with your guests. On the other hand the Pavilion itself is fantastic for sit down meals. It will fit 80 people and it is beautifully catered for.
Other couples decide to have the whole wedding at the Kings and the flexibility of staying in the hotel with gorgeous rooms is a great option. The bridal suite is fab with amazing windows which reach out to the Pavilion and the Priory. I love those windows, great for photographs. Couples have the option of The Pavilion for the main marriage service or the Hotel itself where it can cater for up to 80-90 guests.
