Having a portrait session should not be painful. It should be fun. relaxed and totally natural. I have been photographing families for over 20 years and the one thing I like to do is to pick up your personality and your connections with your family and the only way to do that is to get you out of your confort zone.
With our session I will initially assess what you are all about and may not pick up the camera straight away. I need to understand your relationship with the camera. Is it friend or foe.
Understanding you better gives me a direction to what type pictures will be best.
