MAP OF DORSET VENUES
It is daunting starting the search for your wedding venue for your big day. You are probably thinking – where do I start and what am I looking for? With this in mind I have done a map of Dorset for you with all the main venues on it. I hope you find it useful.
THE PHOTOGRAPHER’S BAR
‘2020’ was an awful year for all of us. What was regarded as the simple things have been taken away from us. In it’s place was a void of emptiness. For a photographer who loves to photograph the joys of the natural world and human emotion I have been locked in to prevent the virus from spreading.
HIGHCLIFFE CASTLE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Capturing happy memories as a Highcliffe castle wedding photographer is easy. Most bride and grooms want a castle wedding looking over the sea. This place has it all. Gorgeous ceremony room, vast banquet room that can fit all your guests and access to an amazing beach at the bottom of the garden.
RHINEFIELD HOUSE WEDDING’S
Rhinefield house wedding’s has given me amazing memories over the years. On a personal note being best man for a good friend and professionally when helping another photographer out and he fell into the lake at the back of the hotel! That was one of the first wedding’s I ever photographed it is always great being thrown into the deep end!
LAST NORMAL PHOTO
This is the last normal photo on my camera before lockdown. Being a photographer I take a lot of photos of my boys. The poor devils! They have lived with me wanting to take pictures their whole lives!
Over the last couple of years the message of Climate change has been all around us – literally. There are signs of it everywhere. From the dramatic weather that we are all having, the air that we breathe, rising tempertures, plastic waste.
THE KINGS ARMS HOTEL
So lucky to have these venues close to me. Christchurch Priory is the most goregous church full of history. This couple had a windy day but it didn’t stop their amazing day.
WEST DORSET WEDDING
This Dorset Wedding was a complete joy from beginning to end. Being on one of the hottest days of 2019 made it a day not for the jackets but of shade and the fizzy stuff.
CHRISTCHURCH HARBOUR HOTEL
Mark & Kirby’s big day at the Christchurch harbour hotel was a small affair but it was full of emotion. The hotel was filled with laughter from the moment they arrived.
GORWELL BARN WEDDING
Gorwell Farm is found in a secluded wooded valley just 2 miles from the village of Abbotsbury and Chesil Beach. As you enter the farm the views of the Jurassic coast is outstandings.
QUALIFIED DORSET WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
To qualify with the Guild of Wedding photographers, a photographer must submit 21 images over three different commissions. Each set of 7 images should capture the flow and feel of the day. Whilst the overall selection should be varied enough to demonstrate that you are competent in the craft of photography.
HIGHCLIFFE CASTLE WEDDING
This wedding at Highclife castle has to be one of my highlights of last year. 2018, was full of gorgeous days and this day was no exception. From beginning to end the sun was shining at Highcliffe castle with the grounds looking absolutely stunning. If you have a tick list for your big day this will cross all your wishes and more. It is quite easy to understand why so many couples have their weddings at Highcliffe Castle.
THREE TUNS BRANSGORE WEDDING
This wedding at The Three Tuns Christchurch was an absolute joy. It was a gorgeous warm sunny September day in the New forest. We had everything including some sparklers after the first dance. The amount of times I was trying to keep my laughter in check is staggering. They were a great crowd and open to some of my mad ideas including jumping on the spot and a bit of dancing.
DORSET PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER
The picture above is of my family. This is the ultimate picture to me and I absolutely love it. I remember setting up my lights in my Mum and Dad’s lounge with the kids running around like lunatics. It was a great day as we all knew how important it was to get this photograph and it was lovely getting the family together as we all get on. Things happen, good and bad and we all need this picture to fall back on and say ‘this is my family’.
