WEDDING AT THE CONNAUGHT HOTEL
This fantastic celebration of two cultures was a real highlight of 2022 for me. So much fun was had at this fantastic venue. Throughout the day there was a lovely mix of traditional English and Flander. With my highlight of when Paul & Esther entered their reception to flying napkins to the song ‘Lac du Connemara’
CHRISTMAS WEDDING AT THE KINGS ARMS HOTEL
A Christmas wedding at the Kings arms is a very special occasion. I might be a bit biased as it is my local but the hotel does it so well. I love a good wedding at Christmas time. Everyone is wanting to have a good time at this time of the year but throw into the mix a good celebration it is the ultimate party time!
2022- MY YEAR IN PICTURES
This is a photo diary of every time I have gone out with my camera in 2022. Due to what happened to all of us in 2020 and 2021 I am wanting to remind myself and whoever is listening the importance of enjoyment of taking pictures. To continue exploring new techniques and improving my composition.
CHEWTON GLEN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
This wedding was originally going to take place in May 2020 but of course was taken over by the pandemic and the lockdown. It was then going to take place in early January this year and it looked like it was going to take place but within hours of meeting up at the end of December we heard the news that again we had another lockdown. Another date followed with disapointment in May but optimism was growing that soon weddings would return so a further date in July was booked. It happened!
MAP OF DORSET VENUES
It is daunting starting the search for your wedding venue for your big day. You are probably thinking – where do I start and what am I looking for? With this in mind I have done a map of Dorset for you with all the main venues on it. I hope you find it useful.
THE PHOTOGRAPHER’S BAR
‘2020’ was an awful year for all of us. What was regarded as the simple things have been taken away from us. In it’s place was a void of emptiness. For a photographer who loves to photograph the joys of the natural world and human emotion I have been locked in to prevent the virus from spreading.
HIGHCLIFFE CASTLE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Capturing happy memories as a Highcliffe castle wedding photographer is easy. Most bride and grooms want a castle wedding looking over the sea. This place has it all. Gorgeous ceremony room, vast banquet room that can fit all your guests and access to an amazing beach at the bottom of the garden.
RHINEFIELD HOUSE WEDDING’S
Rhinefield house wedding’s has given me amazing memories over the years. On a personal note being best man for a good friend and professionally when helping another photographer out and he fell into the lake at the back of the hotel! That was one of the first wedding’s I ever photographed it is always great being thrown into the deep end!
LAST NORMAL PHOTO
This is the last normal photo on my camera before lockdown. Being a photographer I take a lot of photos of my boys. The poor devils! They have lived with me wanting to take pictures their whole lives!
THE KINGS ARMS HOTEL
So lucky to have these venues close to me. Christchurch Priory is the most goregous church full of history. This couple had a windy day but it didn’t stop their amazing day.
WEST DORSET WEDDING
This Dorset Wedding was a complete joy from beginning to end. Being on one of the hottest days of 2019 made it a day not for the jackets but of shade and the fizzy stuff.
CHRISTCHURCH HARBOUR HOTEL
Mark & Kirby’s big day at the Christchurch harbour hotel was a small affair but it was full of emotion. The hotel was filled with laughter from the moment they arrived.
GORWELL BARN WEDDING
Gorwell Farm is found in a secluded wooded valley just 2 miles from the village of Abbotsbury and Chesil Beach. As you enter the farm the views of the Jurassic coast is outstandings.
QUALIFIED DORSET WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
To qualify with the Guild of Wedding photographers, a photographer must submit 21 images over three different commissions. Each set of 7 images should capture the flow and feel of the day. Whilst the overall selection should be varied enough to demonstrate that you are competent in the craft of photography.
HIGHCLIFFE CASTLE WEDDING
This wedding at Highclife castle has to be one of my highlights of last year. 2018, was full of gorgeous days and this day was no exception. From beginning to end the sun was shining at Highcliffe castle with the grounds looking absolutely stunning. If you have a tick list for your big day this will cross all your wishes and more. It is quite easy to understand why so many couples have their weddings at Highcliffe Castle.
THREE TUNS BRANSGORE WEDDING
This wedding at The Three Tuns Christchurch was an absolute joy. It was a gorgeous warm sunny September day in the New forest. We had everything including some sparklers after the first dance. The amount of times I was trying to keep my laughter in check is staggering. They were a great crowd and open to some of my mad ideas including jumping on the spot and a bit of dancing.

We looked long and hard to find the right person to photograph our wedding day and Charles was the perfect choice. He was a pleasure to work with, meeting us for a lovely pre-wedding shoot, helping us to plan everything out in the run-up to the big day and then providing us with a beautifully presented final set of photos once we returned from honeymoon. On the day itself he put us at ease right from the start, blending in seamlessly with our guests and other suppliers. We were really impressed at the way he worked with the bridesmaids and ushers to guide us all smoothly and very efficiently through the organised group photos but were also so pleased with his gorgeous candid shots of some really lovely moments during the day. Thank you Charles, we will treasure these photos for a long time to come!
